The Grace Presbyterian Church congregation was able to serve over 150 students from Walnut Bend Elementary school and their families with a fun morning of fundamental soccer drills and games in a Christ-centered environment. This was made possible thanks t the generosity of our sponsors:  Kickin’ with Kimberly Foundation, Sports Quest Inc. and Chivas USA.

Sign-up sheets were passed out a week in advance at Walnut Bend Elementary School.  Based on the excellent response, each student then received a T-shirt with their designated team color prior to arrival at 9.00 am on Saturday, March 31st, 2012.

Students were divided up in three divisions of ages 5-6, 7-8 and 9-10 years. Each division trained for two hours and had a one-hour playoff where they were able to apply new skills acquired in practice. Every student received a medal for participating at the end of the event

The quality and level of soccer instruction given to elementary school students significantly increased this year. Because many of the skills taught were brand new to students, trust was a major factor. This allowed for a deeper connection with students and their families than last year.

Students from Walnut Bend Elementary School and their families were blessed. This would not have been possible without the equipment provided by Sports Quest and Kickin’ with Kimberly Foundation and the coaching provided by Chivas USA.
