Contracted Head Coach:

Summary

The Contracted Head Coach supports the mission of Sports Quest by owning their assigned location, ensuring safety and professionalism, and leading coaches and players in weekly devotionals and soccer training. Their success is measured by their ability to prepare thoroughly, teach effectively, and lead others by setting a standard of excellence. 

Types: Contracted Seasonal and/or Part-Time Work

Prerequisite: Completed the Internal “Career Path” or the External Experience Track. 

Availability: For the Spring and Fall seasons, the Assistant Coach gets assigned a minimum of 1 and up to 5 field locations to commit to every week for an entire season. For the Summer season, the Assistant Coach gets assigned a minimum of 1 and up to 15 camp week locations consisting of 3 to 4 days of sessions.

Curriculum: Prepares and leads the thematic soccer training session that builds the players’ skill level. Prepares and presents an intentional weekly Biblical devotional that engages and teaches their players by following the curriculum set by the Program Coordinator

Build Christ-like Relationships: Initiates a professional and welcoming approach with each location’s liaison to foster trust and establish long-lasting relationships built on a great rapport. Responsible for spiritually pouring into both their fellow Sports Quest personnel and players within each session period through weekly devotionals and Godly 

Expectations for Head Coaches

  • Godliness: reflects a humble, trustworthy, and respectable character based on Biblical values.
  • Integrity: Act with honesty, fairness, and a strong moral compass in all interactions and decisions.
  • Excellence: Strive to achieve the highest standards of performance and quality in all tasks and responsibilities. 
 
  • Coach is directly supervised by the Program Coordinator.
  • Attend and complete all mandatory orientations and trainings before each season (Summer/Fall/Spring).
  • Complete a “Coach Report” after each session.
  • Very familiar with safety policies and protocols to enforce safety standards at each session. (training provided)
  • Responsible for equipment throughout the entire season by storing, transporting, and maintaining the gear clean and safe to use.
  • Delegates appropriate tasks to fellow Contracted Assistant Coaches and Volunteers per session.
  • Performance during and outside a scheduled session reflects a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This is assumed through an individual commitment to a church community, Bible reading, and prayer.
