Chris Honeycutt joined the Board in May 2015. Chris is currently CFO of Identity Automation and oversees the company’s financial and accounting operations. For the past 15 years, Chris has held financial leadership roles with multiple technology companies in the Houston area. Chris has been married to his wife, Lynn, for over 18 years and together they have a daughter, Brianna. Chris currently coaches a U14 girls’ team trained by Sports Quest. Chris is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a master’s degree in finance from Houston Baptist University.
Mike Harwell joined the board in Spring 2015. Mike is a graduate from the University of Mississippi ( commonly known as Ole Miss) with a BBA in Business Management and a minor in International Business. He is founder and principle of Hillwood Global LLC based in Houston, TX which serves food industry customers in the area of international product sourcing and representation. Mike has been married to his wife Darlene for 35 years and have two sons (Connor & Ryan). Mike previously served as Vice President for Westside Soccer Club located at Bear Creek Park and was instrumental in expanding Sports Quest’s training role with the club. Mike remains active in the youth soccer community by serving on the D&P Committee for South Texas Youth Soccer and as a volunteer during Sports Quest’s outreach camps. Mike begins his 21st year with the Houston Dynamo as part of their game day operations staff.
David Markley has been a Board Member since 2006 and supported Sports Quest by coordinating soccer camps in Austin from 2002 through 2007. He is a former VP of Operations for FlowBelow Aero Inc. and has a ten-year history with teams in the United Soccer Leagues, most recently as Soccer Operations Manager for San Antonio FC. David was the owner and chairman of the Austin Aztex from 2012 to 2014, was previously part owner of Orlando City SC, served on the Premier Development League’s Executive Committee and was selected as the Executive of the Year in 2009. He played club soccer at Auburn University, where he earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering. David currently serves as Director of Operations at Grace Covenant Church in Austin, TX.
Brandon James is a purpose-driven leader, licensed Texas attorney, and seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in IT, enterprise transformation, and legal practice. As a Change Manager at a Fortune 100 company, he has led cross-functional and cross-cultural teams, and championed innovation and productivity. Beyond the corporate world, Brandon is passionate about using his gifts of empathy, teaching, and writing to help people discover their greatest joy in Jesus. His mission is to get the Bible into new hands and hearts, equipping others to live with purpose and hope through the truth of God’s Word.
Grant Alford’s sports ministry journey began on the soccer fields of NW Houston, where he played for select teams and first connected with ministry leaders from Sports Quest — relationships that helped shape his heart for Kingdom service.
Grant continued his athletic and academic pursuits at LeTourneau University, playing two years for the Yellowjackets before transferring to Texas A&M University, where he finished his soccer career and completed his Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. His professional career has remained rooted in Houston, where he works in the Oil and Gas Energy Industry where he continues his passion of managing and developing technical leaders in pursuit of their strategic business goals.
